Come celebrate Asian Pacific American Heritage Month with me, Top Chef winner Kristen Kish and Macy’s. We’ve got lots of fun activities planned at Macy’s in Downtown LA on May 13.
Greetings from Costa Rica! I’m still here on my honeymoon and we’ve been having the most incredible time! Especially in Mal País and Santa Teresa on the Nicoya Peninsula where we’re staying currently. There’s a large community of friendly expats here and a laid-back, health conscious attitude that really appeals to me. As far as the landscape, picture lush, green rainforests that open directly onto pristine beaches. And the whole place is teeming with wildlife. I’ve been having serious fantasies of moving out here and opening a plant-based beach shack restaurant….
We head home tomorrow- SAD FACE, although I am eager to get back to our kitties, I miss them so much- so I’m slowly starting to ease my way back into work mode. I just wanted to pop in here quickly to tell you all about an event I’m participating in with Macy’s to celebrate Asian Pacific American Heritage Month! It’s taking place on Saturday May 13 at the Macy’s in Downtown LA at 2:00pm, so if you’re in the Los Angeles area, please stop by to say hello and check out all the fun they have in store!
I’ll be doing a live tutorial sharing my favorite tips for creating the best stories about food using social media tools like Snapchat and Instagram Stories. If you’ve been keeping up with me on Instagram during my trip you’ve seen me use the Stories feature to document my travels through Costa Rica and all the amazing food we’ve been sampling. I can’t wait to discuss all my tips and tricks because I’m borderline obsessed with this type of social media; I love using it to connect with other food lovers around the world, almost as much as food itself!
The winner of Season 10 of Bravo’s Top Chef, Kristen Kish, will also be there! I remember watching her win Top Chef (I love it when the ladies represent on that show, because the world of professional cooking is so often male dominated), and I’m really excited to meet her and pick her brain during our “Talk & Taste” conversation.
You’ll also get to sample amazing Korean cuisine, get inspired to entertain with an Asian table setting display, and enjoy an authentic Korean night market reception with tastings, samples, Korean Hanbok Fitting experience, the works of Artist Sharon Lee and more! Plus, make any housewares or cookware purchase of $50 or more at the event and get a photo with Kristen and take home an exclusive gift!
Tickets to the event are absolutely free! For more information, or to find another Macy’s event celebrating Asian Pacific American Heritage Month near you, visit macys.com/celebrate. Also, retweet, like and share posts by Macy’s on social media for extra brownie points!
I hope to see some of you there this Saturday!
